Full-capacity mobilisation

Nine machines and fourteen crew on one parcel for a fixed-date handover, coordinated across three trades.

Fleet of earthmoving machines lined up under a dramatic sky

The main contractor had a fixed handover date and a penalty clause behind it. The question was not whether the work could be done, but whether it could be done in the window.

Why owning the park mattered

Nine machines on one parcel at the same time is not something you assemble from hire. Ours were scheduled out of the yard against the programme, and the two that went through planned servicing did so in the week before mobilisation rather than mid-cut.

Three trades, one sequence

Demolition of the old hardstanding, earthworks for the new platform and the drainage run all overlapped. Each had its own exclusion zone, and the sequence was re-planned every morning at seven against what the previous day had actually achieved — not against what the bar chart said it should have.

Result

Handed over on the committed date, with the compaction test and as-built plan in the contractor’s hands the same afternoon.
